DIM Things Premiere – These People “Mind Reading”

These People seem to have a real skill for creating masterful indie rock, These People are relentless when it comes to releasing great track after great track. These People just did it again? Who are These People? Well, These people are These People, and if you aren’t familiar, you should keep reading, and you shouldn’t definitely hit that play button down below, because you do not want to miss out on These People.

These People is the solo project of TJ Penzone. The Long Beach, NY based producer and songwriter started this project after the disbandment of his former electropop project, Men, Women & Children. Penzone is the mastermind behind These People’s killer discography, and while he handles the major bulk of the songwriting and recording, he relies upon a constant rotation of musicians to accompany him on stage for live performances. As one of the latest additions to Green Witch Recordings ever-growing catalog, These People fit in quite nicely, and today, we are proud to share with you his latest offering, “Mind Reading.”

“Mind Reading” is one of those songs you get lost in instantly, it’s loaded with ambient, ethereal sound. It’s beyond pleasing to the listener. The guitar guides you through as the drums are slightly hiding in the back but still present enough to keep you in time. It’s holding everything down tight as bright metallic noises wash throughout, creating a massive and diverse soundscape. Penzone’s vocals come in dreamlike, soothingly nestled into their perfect pocket of the mix. The lead guitar melody surpasses catchiness, into the realm of pure addictiveness, you’ll be hearing it in your sleep – I’m looking forward to it. It’s beautifully constructed, the flawless combination of indie rock and noise work together to create a sonic landscape that any listener will want to revisit over and over again.

So, now that you know These People, make sure you stay close to both them and Green Witch Recordings, because they are up to some great stuff, and maybe you will see a new EP coming out this fall. Until then, stop by their Bandcamp and check out their past work, it does not disappoint.
