Mothra Stewart is the moniker of New York City based musician and songwriter Marc LeFebvre (also the genius behind the wonderful label Green Witch Recordings). It is a beautiful project blending together lofi bedroom pop, noise, and just absolutely superb songwriting. “The Bellwether” struts along in a very minimal fashion, it holds dark and gloomy energy as it slowly passes through. Despite this, when listening, it feels big and full, loads of noise occupies the entirety of space in the background of the track creating this ominous feeling, like it’s surely about to start pouring outside. However, LeFebvre’s soothing voice helps comfort you through this as the accompanying piano and guitar join in to tie everything together perfectly. “The Bellwether” shows just one side of Mothra Stewart’s dynamic sound and songwriting ability as the upcoming EP is stacked with hit after hit.
